Rene’ P. Lawson

Pastor René of Dallas, Texas was appointed to Lake Cities United Methodist Church in March 2008. He holds degrees from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is currently working on a post-graduate degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology.

René’s interest lies particularly in areas were churches seek to grow and reach towards its surrounding community. His past three pastoral assignments enjoyed growth in average worship attendance, which included inner-city, military and suburban settings.

Outside the church, René spends his free time serving as a chaplain with the Navy Reserves. His military duty has placed him in a number of settings across the globe, including a recent tour to Iraq with the Marine Corps. He has spoken to a number of groups about his experiences in the military and is open to accept engagements upon invitation.

René and Pam are excited to be a part of the Lake Cities congregation and look forward to many years of growth and ministry within the church.
