UMW 2017 Mission Project: Children’s Advocacy of Denton County

November 16, 2017

UMW Spring FlowersDonations Needed to Support Children’s Advocacy

February 2017 through December 2017

UMW has chosen to “adopt” Children’s Advocacy of Denton County for a service project for 2017 and is asking the church to participate. Children’s Advocacy provides counseling and other services to Denton County children (and their families) who have been sexually or otherwise physically abused.

UMW is collecting pasta, rice, boxed meals (Hamburger Helper) Ramen noodles, mac & cheese, tomato and pasta sauce, cereal and oatmeal for Children’s Advocacy of Denton County through November.

For your convenience, slips of paper for items will be available in the hallway on or near the UMW bulletin board for you to tear off as a reminder. Boxes are available for your donations. Only new, unopened items can be accepted.

This is our last collection for the year. When we delivered the last items, they were so excited as they had just run out of bottled water. What a heartwarming experience it
was to see their appreciation. Lake Cities UMC is such a loving, giving church.

Thank you for your generous contributions to our May through August collection.

1 John 4:16

So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.
