From the Pastor

Throughout the last several weeks, we’ve been looking at Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations; five different practices that congregations for generations have used as they try to be faithful and fruitful in fulfilling the mission of the church. These practices — Radical Hospitality, Passionate Worship, Intentional Faith Development, Risk-Taking Mission and Service, and Extravagant Generosity — are all essential to what we do.

Your deliberate attention to each of these practices is vital to Lake Cities UMC as we look forward to what God is calling us to do in this community. I hope you will prayerfully consider how you can best express these practices; how can you be radical in your welcome, passionate about worship, intentional in growing in your faith, a risk-taker in service, and extravagant in your generosity.

On Sunday, February 9th, we will collect our pledge cards for 2020. Please indicate how you will financially support the church this year. And don’t be afraid to be extravagant in your generosity. Give of your very best, remembering God gave God’s very best to us.

Shalom,
Pastor Beth
