Missions will always be the heart of Lake Cities UMC

Mission will always be the heart of Lake Cities UMC. In keeping with our ongoing commitment to expanding the Kingdom of God, we believe that as a church we are called to serve in our community and beyond. Our children, youth and adult ministries seek to provide a variety of meaningful opportunities for service.

Whether our mission work takes us to another city or no further than our own church, we seek to stay connected to the mission activities of the United Methodist Church.

This year’s efforts have included children raising funds for The Advance, youth engaging in mission trips, and adults volunteering at UMCOR’s Sager Brown facility in Louisiana. Our mission efforts would not be complete if we did not recognize our position in supporting our local community. We continue to play an active role in providing assistance to those in need through the Lake Cities Food Pantry and the Ministerial Alliance Community Aid Fund, both of which we house and manage. We also support the community through participation in the Heart of the Holidays, Habitat for Humanity, and the ARC of Denton County.

Lake Cities UMC also has been involved with sending expired coupons to RAF Lakenheath in England for military families.
